About
Third Night is written by The Third Night Collective, a small group of hospitality writers and editors across three continents. Between us we have run kitchens, managed front desks, and read enough hotel marketing copy to know the difference between a genuine point of view and a template with better photography.
The site exists because hotel media has a structural problem: most of it is either advertising dressed as editorial, or an anonymous ranking with no visible standard behind it. Neither tells you why a property is actually worth the airfare, or who it is really for.
So this site does one thing with discipline. Every guide is researched against the same four criteria, fact-checked against primary sources, and written to be genuinely useful for planning a trip, not just admiring one. No property pays for inclusion, and none ever will.
The name is the standard, not a claim of a stay. Any hotel can impress for one night. The properties on this site are the ones built to hold up past it.
Every guide starts as a stack of primary sources, not a press release.
